Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, the Member of Parliament for Madina, has put forward a Private Member's Bill aimed at halting public service appointments after elections until the new government is sworn in.

This proposal comes in response to disputes over the termination of appointments of public sector workers hired after December 7, 2024.

In an interview with Channel One News, Sosu emphasised that such practices undermine good governance. "By the 7th of December 2028 all the way to the 7th of January 2029 there shouldn't be any appointments.

Once the law is clear on that, the whole issue of people wanting to appoint when they have lost power only for the new government to also dismiss them because you don't have any budgetary allocation for them," he explained.
