The Minority in Parliament has requested that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang be present in the house on Tuesday, March 18 to participate in the debate on the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.
This request is based on Article 111 of the Constitution, which allows the Vice President to take part in parliamentary proceedings.
The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, in reacting to the presentation of the Business Statement for next week stated that the Vice President's extensive experience in the education sector should be reflected in the government's economic and financial policy. "I realise that the Business Committee has made allocations for Ministers of State leaving out the Vice President of the Republic who has been very quiet.
It will be very very important to see her in action on the floor, debate the President's Economic and Financial Policy, especially having been a Former Minister for Education. "It is very important for her to be here to articulate the policy decision of His Excellency President Mahama," he said.
