A private legal practitioner who doubles as a Vice President of IMANI Africa Kofi Bentil has said that the case he and others filed barring the president from removing heads of security agencies continues despite the removal of Dr George Akuffo Dampare from office as the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
He said their case was not just about IGP but all security heads. "To be clear, our case in the Supreme Court proceeds as normal because it was not just about IGP but all security heads.
We await the ruling," he wrote on his Facebook page.
Imani Ghana and security expert Professor Kwesi Aning have jointly filed a suit at the Supreme Court seeking to restrain the President from removing the Inspector-General of Police and some other heads of the security agencies until an ongoing case relating to the matter is decided by the court in May 2025.
