The spokesperson for the President, Felix Ofosu-Kwakye, has announced that the newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) will be sworn into office on March 14, 2025, to oversee the administration of the Ghana Police Service and enhance security operations in the country.

This follows the President's appointment of Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new IGP, replacing COP Dr.

George Akuffo Dampare.

Speaking in an interview on GHOne TV on March 14, 2025, Ofosu-Kwakye stated that the new IGP would officially assume office after being sworn in, allowing for a smooth transition and ensuring the effective management of the Police Service.
