Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has stated that the 2025 budget reflects a significant reduction in discretionary expenditure.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on Thursday, March 13, 2025, he pointed out that this year's budget has decreased by GHS345 million compared to the previous year. "Discretionary expenditure has reduced by GHS345 million in this year's budget compared to last year.
Last year, the Akufo-Addo Bawumia administration received or allocated GHS912 million for goods and services to the Office of Government Machinery.
This year, GHS847 million has been allocated.
