Africa World Airlines (AWA) has confirmed that Flight AW255, en route from Abuja, Nigeria, made an unscheduled stop at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on 12th March 2025, due to a medical emergency involving a passenger onboard.
Upon recognising the situation, AWA's trained crew immediately initiated emergency protocols and coordinated with aviation authorities to prioritize a swift landing in Lagos.
Local medical teams were on standby upon arrival and provided prompt assistance to the affected passengers.
