Addressing the nation on the 2025 budget during a press briefing on March 13, 2025, the Minority stated that the government, in its budget reading and allocations, failed to address concerns regarding a potential increase in electricity tariffs.
They indicated that electricity prices would be adjusted every three months (quarterly), with no policy intervention from the government to cushion ordinary citizens. "Unfortunately, these issues were not addressed in the economic policy.
Those who were hoping for efforts to halt further increases in electricity bills were disappointed to learn that electricity prices would instead be adjusted every quarter.
