I’m committed to free, fair, peaceful elections — Dr Bawumia

The Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated that the quest for political power should not be an end in itself, but a means to national development. Consequently, he has committed to a free, fair and peaceful elections in December polls devoid of any acrimony.
"Our pursuit of power must be paired with the need to allow the Ghanaian to continue to enjoy his or her peace. Ghana will exist long after we've all left the scene," he stated. Speaking during an interaction with the media in Accra, yesterday, to respond to questions from the media after the party's manifesto launch, Dr Bawumia said no blood should be spilled or single life should be lost as result of the impending elections. He said the NPP under his leadership would not do anything to mar the peace of the country in his pursuit to become the President of Ghana.
