The Minister of Foreign Affairs, , has hinted at plans being developed by the ministry to reintegrate deportees into society upon their return to the country.
Addressing the floor of on Thursday, March 13, 2025, Ablakwa indicated that his office is in consultation with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other stakeholders to provide various forms of support for the deportees.
He stated that options being considered include equipping them with training skills, among other initiatives. "The Ministry is in discussion with NADMO and other partners, including the International Organisation for Migration, to extend support in reintegration and providing additional sources of livelihood to our compatriots upon arrival," he stated.
Ablakwa, the Member of for North Tongu, further added that psychological assistance will be provided to help these individuals reintegrate into society.
