Road crashes have reduced in the Ahafo Region between January and June this year, Miss Indira Apronti, the Ahafo Regional Head of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), has said. Comparatively, she noted that the region recorded 58 cases of crashes in 2024, down from 64 cases reported in 2023 within the same period, a reduction of 22 percent. The crashes killed 15 people in 2024, compared to 23 deaths recorded in the first half of 2023, representing a 35 percent reduction. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Goaso, the Ahafo Regional capital, Ms. Apronti said 87 vehicles, comprising commercial, private, and motorcycles, were involved in the 2024 crashes, compared to 101 vehicles involved in the previous year's crashes.
