The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced that by-elections will be conducted in Nkoranza North and South Districts and several other electoral areas across the country to fill vacancies created largely by the death of sitting members and unresolved electoral issues.

The Commission, in an official release, confirmed that the by-elections will address multiple vacant positions in district assemblies, including those in Awutu Senya West, Agona West, Agona East, Ablekuma Central, La Dade-Kotopon, Weija-Gbawe, Krowor, and many others.

While the majority of the vacancies have been caused by the passing of elected assembly members, some electoral areas such as Loagri Kukua, Wenchiki, Adibo, Bunburiga, and Tigenga have pending elections due to previous security concerns or electoral violence that disrupted earlier voting processes.

The EC has now confirmed that these areas are safe for elections to proceed.
