The Ghana Nurse-Midwives Trainees Association (GNMTA) has expressed profound gratitude to the Government of Ghana for maintaining the Nursing and Midwifery Training Allowance in the recently released budget.
The association applauded the government's allocation of GH₵480 million to sustain this vital support for trainees, describing it as a significant step towards enhancing healthcare delivery in the country.
In a press release signed by National President Adumbisa Pascal and General Secretary Blessing Ampofo, the GNMTA noted that the allowance plays a crucial role in alleviating the financial burden faced by trainees, thereby enabling them to focus on their education and practical training. "We commend the government for prioritizing the needs of trainees within the Nursing and Midwifery professions.
This allowance not only eases the financial constraints of students but also reflects the government's understanding of the essential roles nurses and midwives play in the health sector," the statement said.
