Brigadier General Maxwell Obuba Mantey, an accomplished senior military officer, has officially been appointed as the new Director General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) - the state agency charged with combating drug trafficking and abuse in Ghana.

His appointment takes immediate effect, bringing to NACOC a wealth of operational, intelligence, and strategic leadership experience earned over three decades of distinguished military service.

Born in Accra, Ghana, Brigadier General Mantey has an impressive career profile, demonstrating expertise in global force management, operations, policy development, and international peacekeeping missions.

His extensive background includes high-profile roles such as Military Adviser to the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Deputy Chief of Staff and Force Chief of Operations for the UN Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), and Chief Coordinator at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
