The Asankragwa Magistrate Court in the Western Region has ordered Daniel Baidoo, the prime suspect in the assault on Citi FM and Channel One TV's Western Regional Correspondent, Akwasi Agyei Annim, to compensate him for the destruction of his equipment.

Baidoo, reportedly linked to the family that sold the Adomanya land to illegal miners, is accused of leading a group of galamsey operators in a violent attack on Annim and two other journalists on February 12, 2025.

The journalists, who were filming the activities of illegal miners in the area under police protection, had their equipment-including cameras, laptops, and phones-damaged during the assault.

During its last sitting on March 5, 2025, the court ruled that Baidoo must cover the cost of damages, which has been estimated at over GH₵37,000.
