The Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) says it will continue its nationwide strike until the government revokes the appointment of the current Births and Deaths Registrar and appoints a civil servant to the position.
This comes after the Association renewed its strike in protest against the appointment of Samuel Adom Botchway over alleged affiliation with the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The strike, which was officially declared on Thursday, February 20, is a continuation of CLOGSAG's stance against Botchway's continued tenure.
The association argues that the appointment of a politically affiliated individual compromises the neutrality of the civil service and undermines professionalism within the public sector.
