Former Member of Parliament for the Mion constituency, Mohammed Abdul Aziz, has assured Ghanaians that the upcoming 2025 budget will not introduce new tax burdens but will focus on eliminating wasteful expenditure.

Speaking on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGh, the former MP emphasized that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by President John Mahama, is committed to reducing excessive government spending rather than increasing taxes. "We think that there has been a lot of waste, a lot of unnecessary expenditure that we have incurred in the past.

As a responsible government, we would not want to burden the Ghanaian with more taxes," he stated.

Abdul Aziz noted that the government's primary strategy is to rationalize expenditure and cut out avoidable costs.
