President John Dramani Mahama over the weekend paid working visits to Mali and Niger, member countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
The visits form part of President Mahama's 'good neighbourliness' tour of Ghana's neighbours, coming on the back of a similar visit to Côte d'Ivoire on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
On Saturday President Mahama was received by Mali's Transitional President, General Asimi Goita at the Modiba Keita Airport in the capital, Bamako.
The visit to Mali is reciprocal of an earlier one by Mali's Prime Minister, General Abdoulaye Maïga, to Ghana in January 2025 following President Mahama's ascension to the presidential throne.
