The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has nominated three individuals to serve on the General Legal Council (GLC).
In a letter dated 28th February 2025, addressed to the Chief Justice, Dr Ayine put forward the following nominees: • Honourable Francis Xavier Sosu, MP for Madina • Mrs Clara Beeri Kasser-Tee, Lecturer at the University of Ghana School of Law • Dr Abdul-Basit Aziz Bamba, Senior Lecturer, University of Ghana The nomination is in line with Section 1(2) of the Legal Profession Act, 1960, and Paragraph 2(1)(d) of the First Schedule of the Act.
The Attorney General also noted that His Excellency the President had been duly informed of the nominations.
The General Legal Council is responsible for regulating legal education and the professional conduct of lawyers in Ghana.
