The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has successfully absorbed the Savannah College of Education into the public college system, subject to the approval of the yet to be constituted GTEC Governing Board.
The decision is in line with government's unwavering commitment to expand access to quality teacher education and improving the nation's educational framework.
A statement released on March 7 by the Public Relations Unit of the Education Ministry said following a comprehensive review and due diligence process, Savannah College of Education has satisfied all requirements necessary for its transition from a private institution to a fully recognized public College of Education.
This transition ensures that the institution will now operate under the governance and funding framework of the public tertiary education system, allowing it to benefit from enhanced state resources and support.
