The Chief Executive Officer of Dalex Finance, Mr Joe Jackson is making a case for the Mahama administration to fight against illegal small-scale mining practices (Galamsey).

He reminded the Mahama administration that one of the main reasons the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) government was voted out of office was because of the failure to fight galamsey. "Lest the 'powers that be' forget: Galamsey was one of the reasons NPP lost this election," he wrote on his X page.

He says that the forest guards and rapid response team from the Forestry Commission are unable to tackle these illegal miners because they do not have the sophisticated weapons that the galamasyers possess.
