Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has commended the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for the role they played in building Ghana's democracy. He urged them to zealously protect the hard-won reputation of Ghana as a beacon of democracy. Dr Bawumia said these on Saturday, August 24 when he served as the guest of honour at the Graduation Ceremony of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College Course 45 and the Master of Science in Defence and International Politics in Accra. In a Facebook post after the event, he said "I praised the Ghana Armed Forces for their role in ensuring Ghana's democracy becomes the model for the subregion and charged them to zealously protect this hard-won reputation. "I also noted the need to guard against the increasingly negative influence of misinformation and disinformation on national development, especially as the nation heads towards presidential and parliamentary elections in December." "I congratulate all the graduates, and I wish them the best of luck in all their endeavours," he added.
