Energy Minister, John Jinapor has disclosed government's plan to construct a second gas processing plant, given the huge power demand and energy sector shortfalls.
Ghana's energy sector faces a huge fuel deficit which has led to power outages and instability for years.
At a press conference at the Jubilee House on Friday, March 7, 2025, John Jinapor noted that following a meeting, cabinet has directed a construction of a second gas processing plant. "Cabinet has approved that in partnership and in conjunction with the Finance Ministry, we take immediate steps to construct a second gas processing plant," he said.
This plant is expected to augment the power shortfall and increase supply security across the country as well as improve the reliability of natural gas supply for power generation.
