President John Dramani Mahama has visited communities in the Volta Region devastated by recent tidal waves, assuring affected residents of swift government intervention.
The disaster has displaced approximately 600 people in areas such as Agavedzi, leaving many homeless and in distress.
During his visit, President Mahama directed the Minister of Finance to make immediate budgetary allocations for the commencement of the Blekusu Sea Defence Project Phase 2.
The initiative aims to curb the recurring destruction caused by tidal waves in Ketu South and Keta. "Funding for the sea defence project will be captured in the budget to be presented to Parliament in a few days," he assured the victims.
