North Tongu MP has shot down assertions that the opposition (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are the same. The lawmaker and former deputy education minister stated that "God, the clergy, and the Ghanaian people" have been "deceived" by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Speaking about the National Cathedral project, he said the government demolished several structures to build the most expensive hole in the world. He was speaking at the launch of the (NDC) 2024 Manifesto in Winneba, Central Region, on Saturday, August 24, 2024. He recounted how "in the process" of actualizing the president's personal religious dream, "so many edifices were demolished," including, but not limited to, "the judiciary training institute, judges' bungalows, scholarship secretariat, passport head office, and the Malian ambassador's residence."
"Did you ever hear Mahama say he woke up with a nightmare and so has decided to make a personal pledge, and so he's going to sink 58.1 million dollars into the world's most expensive pit?" Ablakwa quizzed.
