Today, March 6, 2025 marks Ghana's 68th Independence Anniversary celebration.
The ceremonial event is being held at the Jubilee House, the seat of government.
Government has cut the budget for the 68th Independence Day celebrations by 90%, reducing costs from GH₵15 million under the previous administration.
Minister of State in charge of Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, explained that this year's event, set for March 6 at Jubilee House, has been scaled down to just over 500 participants, compared to thousands in previous years.
