Kwame Asare Obeng aka A Plus has described the President's new poultry initiative as a direct way to empower Ghanaian households financially. "The President told us that thousands of homes are going to benefit from this initiative," the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central stated on the floor of parliament while making a submssion, explaining that it is part of a broader plan to reduce dependency on food imports.
He highlighted that Ghana spends millions annually importing poultry while producing far less than the national demand. "Ghana imports too much poultry every year, while our local farmers struggle.
The President has seen this and has a plan to change it," he explained.
Obeng elaborated on how the initiative would not only create jobs but also boost the agriculture sector. "If selected districts raise thousands of birds per cycle, we will significantly reduce our reliance on imported poultry.
