An explosion at shops selling mining explosives in Odumase, near Konongo in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality, has left one person dead and several others injured, including firefighters.
The incident began with a fire at a shop selling dynamite and other explosives used by local miners, which then triggered an explosion that caused extensive damage to nearby buildings and injured numerous individuals.
While the exact cause of the explosion remains unknown, authorities confirmed that a resident lost their life in the blast.
Firefighters who rushed to the scene to control the situation also sustained injuries.
