Bolgatanga Central MP, Isaac Adongo, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 took a swipe at former Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, over what he described as the Akufo-Addo administration's excessive appetite for borrowing through bonds.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Adongo ridiculed the former government's approach to debt management, suggesting that they sought loans from every possible source, even likening their borrowing habits to informal "susu" loans. "Mr.
Speaker, we have a country where our colleagues have borrowed to the extent that every corner where they were giving susu loans, they were there," Adongo said mockingly.
He specifically called out Oppong Nkrumah, reminiscing about how the former Minister once schooled him on various bond schemes, including the Panda Bond and the Century Bond.
