Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Ekow Vincent Assafuah, has raised concerns over the government's delay in responding to his request for access to prosecution memos, which he says were recommended for discontinuation under the previous Attorney General.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page on 5 March 2025, Assafuah referenced the public admission by Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Justice Srem Sai, who confirmed during his vetting that memos from the Prosecution Department had been sent to the former Attorney General, advising the discontinuation of certain cases.

The Deputy Attorney General further indicated that he had personally seen electronic copies of these memos and that anyone seeking access could obtain them through the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Following this revelation, Assafuah exercised his right under the Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989), by formally requesting access to the memos.
