At least 16 assemblymen of the Kintampo South constituency in the Bono East Region have petitioned the National Democratic Congress hierarchy to bring Unas Owusu, the regional chairman, and three others, to book.
The aggrieved assemblymen claim that Unas Owusu and the three, all executives of the Kintampo South NDC, should be held responsible for the 'kidnapping, brutal assault and torture' of a party faithful, Alfred Agandaah Atewene, also called Tutu, on February 19, 2025.
His only crime was to dare speak against the unexplained disappearance of about 200 bags of rice, said to be part of about 600 bags seized from the former MP, Alex Gyan.
The three Kintampo South constituency executives are Robert Sakyi aka Slimmer, Chairman; Wilfred Zuuri, Secretary; and Atanga Matthew, Communication Officer.
