Mavis Owusu-Gyamfi, President of the African Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET) has urged the government to prioritise investment incentives for large local businesses.
Speaking at the National Economic Dialogue, Owusu-Gyamfi emphasised the importance of supporting homegrown enterprises to drive sustainable economic growth. "Offer investment incentives to your large local businesses the same way you do for foreign direct investments. "Remember your large businesses have an option of where else to invest so let's prioritize in supporting them," Owusu-Gyamfi stated.
During the dialogue, discussions centered on six key thematic areas, including enhancing export competitiveness and diversifying the economy.
Owusu-Gyamfi presented insights from the Growth with Depth session, highlighting the need for deliberate and strategic policies to reset Ghana's economic trajectory.
