The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Club Licensing Committee has rejected the University of Ghana Stadium, citing an undulating pitch and security concerns as the main reasons for its disqualification.

The UG Stadium, which has served as a temporary home for Hearts of Oak, Legon Cities, and Accra Lions, will no longer be available for Ghana Premier League (GPL) matches, forcing these clubs to find alternative venues.

Speaking on Happy FM, Hearts of Oak's Public Relations Officer, Opare Addo, shared details on the rejection: "On Thursday evening, we were informed that under the new safety protocols, Legon Stadium does not meet the required standards.

They cited the pitch's uneven surface in their own words undulating pitch, which is deemed unfit for football, and concerns over the safety and security zone.
