Former Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, James Klutse Avedzi, has cautioned President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration against sole-source contracts.

He noted that sole-sourced contracts are breeding grounds for corruption.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the National Economic Dialogue, Avedzi stressed that rigorous scrutiny of sole-sourced contracts is essential in the fight against corruption. "Procurement authority should not grant any approval for any request, road construction, or what kind of procurement.

If the [requirements] for sole sourcing approval are not there.
