Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has disclosed that the Trede Hospital, one of the facilities under the Agenda 111 initiative, remains unfinished and non-operational despite being commissioned two days before the 2024 general election.
According to the minister, the government needs to raise GHS 100 million to complete and operationalize the facility, located in the Atwima Kwawonma Municipality of the Ashanti Region. "We have come to inspect the Trede Agenda 111 hospital, and as you can see, the place is still under construction.
I have been informed that the outstanding commitment is over GHS 100 million.
So, completion is one issue, operationalization is another, and even paying for work already done is also a challenge," Mintah Akandoh told the press.
