On Saturday, February 22, a devastating thunderstorm ravaged Jema and its surrounding areas, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
The storm inflicted severe damage on numerous household buildings, including: The local health post, the newly constructed Church of Pentecost and the Police station.
The extent of the damage has caused significant disruption to the community, emphasizing the need for swift relief efforts. Electrical connections to homes and institutions were also disconnected due to extensive damage to power cables, plunging the community into further hardship.
In response to the disaster, the Member of Parliament for Aowin Constituency, Oscar Ofori Larbi, quickly dispatched a team, led by the Constituency Chairman of the NDC and accompanied by some party executives, to assess the extent of the damage.
