The Some Traditional Council has condemned the erstwhile New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for neglecting the Sea Defense Project, a decision they say has led to the destruction of Salakope and Agavedzi.
At a press conference, the Council expressed frustration over the past administration's failure to continue the project despite multiple appeals over the last eight years.
Paramount Chief of the Some Traditional Area, Togbuiga Adamah III, argued that had Phase II been completed, the ongoing devastation caused by tidal waves could have been prevented.
With homes and businesses in ruins, the Council is urgently calling on the new government, led by President John Dramani Mahama, to prioritize the completion of the sea defense project.
