Government Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has dismissed claims made by the minority in their 'True State of the Nation Address', stating that there is nothing commendable about the NPP government's handling of the economy.

The minority caucus in parliament in its 'True State of the Nation' address referenced the Bank of Ghana's Summary of Economic and Financial Data (January 2025),  pointing to strong economic fundamentals, arguing that all major economic components-real GDP growth, external trade surpluses, and the financial sector-are in good shape. "It is no secret that the strength of an economy is also determined by the strength of its financial sector.

Given the record of performance by our financial sector under the NPP administration, is it correct, Ladies and Gentlemen, for such an economy to be described as badly managed?" he asked.

However, in an interview on Eyewitness News on Monday, February, 03, Kwakye Ofosu criticized the previous government's economic policies, particularly highlighting the hardship faced by businesses and households due to the steep depreciation of the Ghanaian cedi. "What stability are they talking about?
