Former Finance Minister Amin Adam has pushed back against President John Mahama's claims regarding Ghana's financial buffers, arguing that the Sinking Fund is not the only reserve available to support expenditure and debt servicing.

Speaking at the Minority's 'True State of the Economy' Address, Dr.

Amin Adam accused the President of presenting an incomplete picture of Ghana's financial reserves, failing to acknowledge multiple accounts that have been used to cushion the economy against fiscal shocks. "In addressing the issue of buffers created to support expenditure and maturing debt obligations, the President focused on the Sinking Fund as if it is the only source of buffers.

The Sinking Fund is just one of our buffers," Adam stated.
