Chairman of the National Economic Dialogue Planning Committee, Dr Ishmael Yamson, has urged a fundamental reset of Ghana's economy, warning that persistent corruption and poor governance are jeopardising the country's future.
Speaking at the National Economic Dialogue in Accra on Monday, March 3, 2025, Dr Yamson expressed concern over Ghana's worsening economic crisis, attributing it to decades of weak leadership and institutional failures. "Our journey since independence has not been remarkable.
The time has come for a fresh start," he stated.
He pointed to rising unemployment, a declining manufacturing sector, increasing food imports, and growing frustration among young people as clear signs of economic distress.
