Ghana's President, , has announced that the construction of the Kumasi Western Bypass will soon commence under the 'Big Push Programme.' According to the president, this initiative aims to improve the traffic situation in the Greater Accra Region, particularly for heavy articulated cargo trucks.

President Mahama made this announcement while fellowshipping with the clergy on Sunday, March 2, 2025, a report by citinewsroom.com said.

He stated "Under the big push programme, we'll commence construction of the Kumasi Western Bypass.

This will remove unnecessary traffic, especially the heavy articulated cargo trucks that come through the city, because they would have an opportunity to connect with the Mampong and Techiman roads through Ejisu." Additionally, he discussed the government's plan to continue the construction of the Suame Interchange and the second phase of the Kejetia Market in the Ashanti Region.
