Government Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has dismissed claims that the ongoing construction of the Hajj Village in Accra is being funded by taxpayers' money.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that the facility is primarily an airport terminal building designed for check-in and pilgrim facilitation. "The Hajj Village is primarily an Airport Terminal Building for check-in and pilgrim facilitation, owned and being built by the Ghana Airports Company.
Not a pesewa of taxpayers' money involved," Kwakye Ofosu stated.
His comments come amid public discussions about the funding sources of the new Hajj Village, a landmark project aimed at improving facilities for Ghanaian pilgrims embarking on the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.
