Founder of the All People's Congress (APC), , has stated that he believes the pandemic was more of a blessing than a punishment for Ghana and Ghanaians. He argues that only an ignorant person would view as a punishment for Ghanaians. According to Ayariga, during the era, Ghana received significant support and funds from various sources through the government. He also pointed out that the government continues to tax people for -related expenses whenever purchases are made. To buttress his point, Ayariga mentioned that when he recently cleared his car at the port, he was charged GH¢400,000, of which GH¢40,000 was a levy.
