President John Dramani Mahama has emphasised that the Hajj pilgrimage should not be treated as a profit-making venture.
He made it clear that the Hajj task force must not structure the pilgrimage to generate profit.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the new Hajj Village on Friday, February 28, President Mahama outlined the government's approach to managing the Hajj and ensuring that any surplus funds are used to benefit the Muslim community.
He further announced that after this year's Hajj, a Hajj board would be constituted, and a chairman would be appointed.
