The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has stated that it is facing relentless attacks from individuals and groups currently under investigation or prosecution.

Since its inception, some have deemed the OSP redundant, arguing that it has failed to fulfill its mandate and serves no useful purpose in the country's fight against corruption.

This has led to calls for its outright dissolution.

However, speaking at the 5th Annual Constitution Day Public Lecture on Friday, February 28, 2025, the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, stated that while it is open to discussions on its dissolution, its leaders are facing unfair and unjust criticism. "There have been, and continue to be, attempts to discredit the office and its principal officers unfairly and unjustly, met with formidable resistance and pushback," the Special Prosecutor said.
