The Minority Leader in , , has stated that he is confidence that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will one day be elected into power by the electorates again.
Speaking on the floor of on Friday, February 28, 2025, Afenyo-Markin emphasised his certainty that his party will eventually become the Majority in , regardless of how long it takes for them to assume power as the government of the day.
According to him, there is no obstacle that can prevent such a day from coming to pass.
He added that even if he does not live long enough to witness the day the NPP is elected back into power, as long as the country continues to practice its democracy, that day will inevitably arrive. "If today, you are of the view that in this debating chamber, they should call 7 Majority MPs and only 3 Minority MPs because you have the rule, I will not debate or let us break shoulders over this matter because I know that in as long as there is life, even if I am dead and gone and this democracy we have all established is in force, the NPP will someday come into power.
