Market women at Agona Swedru, in the Central Region, have expressed disapproval of Agona West Member of Parliament (MP) Cynthia Morrison's decision to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 elections. The incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP and former Minister of Gender recently announced her independent bid after losing the NPP parliamentary primary to Christopher Arthur. In a recent address to her supporters at Agona Bobikuma, Morrison, who has served two consecutive terms, stated that she has unfinished business in the constituency, prompting her decision to contest independently. However, this move has sparked outrage among traders in the Agona Swedru market, who feel betrayed by the MP.
