The controversial Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, which seeks to criminalize LGBTQ+ activities and their promotion in Ghana, has been reintroduced to Parliament for reconsideration.The bill was initially passed by the 8th Parliament but did not receive presidential assent under former President Nana Akufo-Addo's administration.

Now, six Members of Parliament, including Sam George (Ningo Prampram) and Reverend John Ntim Fordjour (Assin South), have brought it back for debate and approval.

Speaking to Citi News on Thursday, February 27, 2025, Rev.

Ntim Fordjour confirmed the bill's reintroduction and urged President John Dramani Mahama to sign it into law once it is passed."Myself, Sam George, Hon Bedzrah, Hon Alhassan Tampuli, Hon Abdul Kabiru, and Hon Ekow Vincent-we have reintroduced it to support the speedy passage of the bill so that he can assent to it.
