The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has issued an update on the tragic murder of final-year Biological Sciences student, Joana Deladem Yabani, confirming the arrest of a suspect believed to be the mastermind behind the gruesome act.According to the university's latest statement, the suspect, a fellow student who resided in the same hostel as the deceased, was apprehended by the Regional Police.
The arrest follows an extensive review of CCTV footage, which provided critical evidence.
Authorities also found clothing worn during the crime in the suspect's possession, which has been retrieved as evidence.
In response to the tragic incident, KNUST, in collaboration with the Regional Police Command led by the IGP, has significantly boosted security across campus.
