Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has criticized President John Dramani Mahama's approach to addressing the nation's challenges, insisting that the president must take responsibility for fixing the country.
Speaking after Mahama's first State of the Nation Address (SoNA) in Parliament on Thursday, Afenyo-Markin argued that the president's address was filled with lamentations rather than a clear plan for solutions. "Mr Speaker, the president again came to this house with a familiar story, the usual lamentations," Afenyo-Markin stated adding, "Mr Speaker, if the president has any concerns, his duty is to fix it." However, in his address, President Mahama made it clear that his priority is finding solutions to Ghana's challenges rather than dwelling on complaints or assigning blame.
He reiterated his commitment to tackling the country's economic and social challenges head-on. "Mr.
Speaker, it is not my style to shift blame when confronted with challenges," President Mahama stated.
