President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to revive the Onuador mobile healthcare vans to deliver essential medical services to underserved communities.

Speaking during his State of the Nation Address on Thursday, February 27, Mahama said his government, in collaboration with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), will reintroduce the initiative to provide outpatient (OPD), ophthalmology, dental, ENT, and cancer screening services in remote and vulnerable areas.

He noted that the mobile healthcare programme, which was initially introduced during his previous administration, was abandoned after the change of government in 2017. "We will work with the NHIA to bring back the ONUADOR mobile healthcare vans, ensuring that critical healthcare services reach those who need them the most," he assured.

The revival of this initiative is expected to improve healthcare accessibility and enhance early detection and treatment of various medical conditions across the country.
